The skill and passion with which the Choir performs the classic works of the Ukrainian 'masters' - and the entertaining and compelling way they present the best-loved folk songs of their country - combine to make each performance something unique in the world of music.
In addition to their touring and concerts, the hard-working Kyiv Chamber Choir has recorded 44 CDs, featuring the best music of their homeland, since they were formed in 1991. They have performed over 1,500 concerts.
Maestro Hobdych has made it part of his mission to ensure that Ukrainian music scores - some of which were banned for over 70 years - have been produced and circulated to conductors, choirs and libraries throughout Ukraine - at no charge.
He passionately believes that recording the music and circulating the scores will help ensure its existence will not be threatened again, in the future.
It is also his vision that performing this great music around the world will ensure this 'hidden musical treasure' can take its place in the mainstream arts and culture of each country where the Choir performs.
PCI is honoured to again support this vision and to present the Kyiv Chamber Choir to music audiences in the United States and Canada, in late 2016.
We think you will find the Sounds of Ukraine concert - featuring some of the best, most popular Ukrainian music - to be a memorable occasion.
